Our group is proudly international. Valuing diversity is the heart of our research group and the team members come from all over the world with different nationalities, cultures and scientific backgrounds (from engineering to computer science and physics). Nonetheless, there is one passion that we all share in the group and that is the love for science. If you are motivated, driven and enthusiastic about quantum technologies feel free to contact us for postdoc, PhD and master positions. Here is some information and requirements about the opening positions that we have.
Postdocs: We have an opening for several theoretical postdoc positions (initially for two years with possible extensions of up to 5 years) in the subjects of condensed matter physics and quantum information with the focus on quantum simulation, and quantum sensing. The salary for postdocs is competitive with European universities and successful applicants will enjoy a reimbursement of up to 10,000 RMB (~ $1500) for international travel or family visiting per year. If you are interested to apply you can directly send your CV to either the head of the group or the administration manager.
PhD and master positions (Chinese students): Our group is open for both master and PhD students to pursue their education under the supervision of Professor Bayat. The students can enjoy the international atmosphere of the group and benefit from the expertise of various postdocs and senior students. The recruitment of Chinese students is done through the IFFS department. While some students need to take an entrance exam, some of the outsanding students may be exempted and directly admitted for our graduate studies. In the case of interest and for more detailed information please contact us.
PhD and master positions (International students): If you are interested to join our group as an international student you should first get a scholarship from Chinese government or the UESTC. The students are normally recruited at specific times of the year, usually in late February and early March. So, if you are interested in joining us feel free to contact either the head of the group or the administration manager of the group.
Undergraduate students: We constantly encourage undergraduate students to join us for undertaking their Bachelor project or just pursue some small projects. This will give them a flavor of research in quantum technologies. Please contact us for more details.
